Meet The Designers

Nina Howell

Nina Howell has been a Designer in numerous areas since receiving her BA in Fine Arts from Colgate University.  She started at Sotheby's in New York acting as the liaison between the art experts and printer in all stages of production and design for the publication of fifty art catalogues annually.

She then moved to Boston and worked as a Graphic Designer for Madison Publishing for four years before deciding to pursue a degree in Jewelry Design from the North Bennet Street School. Upon graduation, Nina designed and sold handmade one-of a kind jewelry at stores and shows on the East Coast.

Nina moved to the Vineyard with her husband and three children five years ago and is now working at Vineyard Design Center helping her clients plan their own creative and functional kitchens and baths. She enjoys pulling together all of the elements of a project: space planning, colors, and textures. She has an eye for detail, and many years of personal experience in kitchen and bath remodeling from initial planning through construction.

Lisa Steers

Lisa was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  She received her Master of Architecture degree with a certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2002.  During and after graduate school she worked for a firm in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington DC on a variety of projects for the Smithsonian Institution and the Architect of the Capitol as well as on the renovation of a number of historic row houses.  She relocated to the Hudson Valley region of New York in 2004 and worked for a SoHo firm in NYC specializing in hospitality as part of the design and management team for the renovation of a large hotel owner's apartment, new faculty and student housing for a local university and a new presidential suite and spa for a luxury 5th Avenue hotel.  In 2007 she began working closer to home in Wappingers Falls and designed a number of residential and university projects. 

Lisa designs in a multitude of styles, from traditional to contemporary and everywhere in between.  She brings her extensive knowledge of historic architecture into her projects where appropriate and enjoys combining styles for a unique, eclectic and highly personalized look that reflects the client's personailty while remaining contextual.
